8 Essentials of a Licensing Contract

Posted by artmentor on Apr-23-2008

How a Licensing Contract Can Protect You
A contract protects both you and the one you sign with. A contract is vital for EVERY thing you do that concerns your Art and will bring you peace of mind. Both parties know what to expect and there are no surprises!

If you are not the writer of the contract, read it carefully. Don’t be afraid to negotiate portions and make changes for things you don’t like - just do so BEFORE you sign.

Adding Dimension to Your Drawings

Posted by artmentor on Apr-4-2008

Getting 3-Dimensional
Using a flat, solid line, especially around the outside of a shape, tends to flatten the shape.

Create line variation by adding thicker or darker line ’segments’ to your lightly worked drawing.

Using this technique will help to suggest volume and creates more dimension and interest to your work.

Thin and broken lines will give an illusion of light striking your subject. Use this on the top edges of your subject (where light would normally be landing on it).
